Moon Spirit
For the best experience, please download the desktop build.
Moon Spirit is a story where you explore the mystical and mysterious world of the moon. You play as a fox spirit, with the ability to glow and activate a source of light to guide your way. Sit back and relax as you make your way into the glowing, beautiful atmospheric world.
Control:
- WAD / Arrow Keys: Move
- Spacebar: Interact
I made all of the assets inside this game during the jam, including the music. However, there were some extremely helpful third-party resources and tools that I should mention here:
- Aseprite
- God rays - Godot Shaders
- Picster's particle textures
- Deep-Fold's space background generator
- and lastly, tons of helpful Godot tutorials I've watched.
This game was made and submitted for the GoGodotJam2 jam.

Firstly,
Great Work!
it takes a lot of work to make even a small game, so be proud of your efforts.
Here are some pointers to help you improve your games in the future.
Your light beam mechanic doesnt initially stand out to the player. Some ways to make it stand out could be to pan the camera back to make the light more central, making the light brighter, increasing the initial sound of the light. (or do a little of them all)
Finally,
Adding some kind of exit function is always a nice feature. Even if the game is only a MVP or DEMO.
This... This is the most beautiful game I have played in so long. The way everything blends together, the music, the graphics, it is absolutely incredible!!
Thank you very much! That means a lot to me!
Absolutely!! I look forward to seeing what else you create. I myself am learning to become a game developer and it is games like this that inspire me the most.
I am guessing you are storing the last moved direction to render the correct facing for the wolf, which might be the reason why while jumping the 'x' vector might be adding unnecessarily (had the same bug in my platformer) or something like that.
Jumping near cliffs become pretty risky😬
Hey there! Thank you very much for the feedback. The core codes of this game are pretty flawed, and I switched engine from Godot to Unity lately. I will rebuild this game again from scratch on Unity someday. With better code management, hopefully.
Nice game
I also want to say a thing about a bug (probably because I used the web version ), like sometimes when you jump to the light ,the wolf will keep on floating in another direction.I can post the video if you want
Hey there! Thank you very much for taking the time to play, record, and even post the video on youtube! This is my first game, and I'm fully aware that there are many bugs to be fixed in this game. There are some flaws in the core basic movement setting of the game, and I don't really use Godot engine anymore.
However, I will someday rebuild this game from scratch on Unity. Hopefully, I will fix the janky movement and prone to bugs codes inside this game and build a better and more solid version of this game.
Best of luck and happy Christmas
It's such a moving little game. You did well. And the fox spirit is very cute. I like the idea with the lights, it's quite unique. Best wishes.
Hey there! Thank you very much!
